In a statement from Handicap International, director Paul Vermeulen, said “Not to forget about Haiti,” recalling that the cyclone season begins and it is possible that the camps may not withstand the rains and hurricanes.
Handicap International will increase its operations in the Caribbean country and will focus on three main areas: assistance to the wounded, assisting victims and transport of humanitarian aid.
“Coordination for the reconstruction is a big challenge,” Vermeulen said, in reference to the hundreds of organizations that are currently in the country.
